Sometimes when I’m photographing a family I’ll have them close their eyes just for a minute. I’ll count to three and have them open up then. There’s always one in the group who keeps them open. Mostly, when I say three, everyone has their eyes open. I’m not always big on huge cheesy smiles, but it’s really nice when everyone has their eyes open.
And it’s fun to use this technique on my own kiddo, because on three, I know exactly what I’m going to see. BIG BROWN EYES. The best.
